Texas is well-known for its obsession with high school football. The state has its fair share of high school football stadiums with the Toyota Stadium – home to the Frisco Independent School District as well as Major League Soccer team FC Dallas – leading the pack with a 20,500 seat capacity. However, the Allen Eagle Stadium is the largest capacity high school football stadium which is home to only one team – the Allen High School Eagles. When it first opened in 2013, the exorbitant construction cost of 65 million was hugely controversial – especially when the stadium was forced to close within 18 months due to major faults being found in its concrete. It reopened in the summer of 2015 just in time for graduation.
