The Christ the King statue in Świebodzin, Poland is the tallest Jesus statue in the World. Designed in an art deco style, the 33m (108 ft) tall statue (a deliberate height symbolic of the traditional belief that Jesus died at the age of 33) weighs 440 tons and is composed of concrete and fibreglass. The idea to build the statue was conceived by a retired Polish priest in 2008 and funded by donations which mostly came from the 21,000 inhabitants of the town. Although it is not as well-known, Christ the King stands 3m taller than the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue which overlooks Rio De Janeiro.
