The Three Gorges Dam in Hubei Province, China holds the record for being the world’s largest power station. Built across the Yangtze River by the town of Sandouping, Three Gorges has a height of 181m (594 ft) and a length of 2,335m (7,661 ft). Boasting an installed capacity of 22,500 MW, the dam set a new record in 2014 when it generated 98.8 TWh of electricity.
